Annual Review
2016
What a great semester for everyone involved with Food for Your Mood. We have advanced in many aspects over the course of three months. From drafting a detailed proposal to creating the website and monitoring 4 social media channels, the team has accomplished various initial goals. Connecting with over 3,000 people on multiple social platforms has increased traffic back to our website. We have been able to help college students develop an understanding about how mood and food coincide.
Satisfy your cravings the right way.
What We Offer
Food For Your Mood provides a new take on attaining a healthy lifestyle. We're educating our readers that the key to eating responsibly is understanding that your diet and emotions coincide. The days of only eating salads are gone. Instead, we offer simple and wholesome recipes to keep you healthy and happy.

What Makes Us Different
Food for Your Mood is not an average recipe blog for college students. Sure, we post easy, delicious recipes on our website, but we also explain how the foods we eat can affect the way we feel. The Food for you Mood team also researches how moods can affect cravings, and which foods can agitate or relieve certain moods. Since we are college students, we write with a specific perspective for our audience. Our main goal is to make sure our readers embrace their moods and know how to cope with them using food.

Food for Your Mood was very successful on Twitter this semester. Our main goal was to post our blogs and links back to our website to increase page views and traffic. Needs for Improvement
As a new website, we have experienced a multitude of failures and successes. We continuously strive to give our readers fresh content that interests them. We have discovered that we need to create more original content that would not get lost in the mix of food blogs on the web. We hope to implement creativity in our writing and allow our individual voices to shine.
The Instagram account will need to be revamped so our viewers can easily connect with other food accounts and receive new information regarding recipes and tips. Adding a video series would allow us to consistently engage with a larger audience as well.
Reaching out for more local engagement would benefit our blog. Connecting with restaurants or JMU Dining Services would bring more exposure to our website.

GOAL #1
Create an active and aware audience for Food for Your Mood
GOAL #2
Maintain four social media platforms to interact with audience
GOAL #3
Provide multiple, useful resources for readers regarding foods and moods
Goals Met

Food for Your Mood created an active audience within the first few months of its launch that became aware of the effects that food can have on one's mood. This was done through the plethora of informative blog posts and links to external sites that educated the audience on each mood and food associated with that mood. Plenty of resources were provided, which was another big goal that we hoped to meet. Each social media account was maintained consistently the past few months in order to keep the audience interested and engaged with out site. Lastly, each of Food for Your Mood's social media accounts gained a minimum of 50 followers, except for the Twitter account. We feel as though college students are using Twitter less and less, which is why we think that was not our most popular social media platform. However, we did have a couple celebrity engagements on our Twitter account.
